Curriculum Implementation
Our curriculum model is highly personalised, built around each learner’s needs, aspirations and EHCP outcomes. It includes the following key elements:

Student Voice & Personal Planning
-
Students are encouraged to attend and contribute to their own EHCP reviews
-
Action plans are created in collaboration with students, supporting goal setting and long-term planning
-
Our College Council provides a strong platform for student voice, promoting understanding of rights, responsibilities, and democratic processes
Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing
-
Mental health is embedded within the curriculum, helping students understand their own wellbeing, recognise the needs of others, and seek appropriate support
-
Learners access a range of pastoral support, including a key person, family liaison, counselling, and help with bursary or benefit applications

Work Experience and Careers
-
All curriculum areas include exposure to careers education, helping students understand the relevance of their learning
-
Students access a range of supported and independent work experience placements, as well as employer encounters and community links
Independence & Life Skills
-
A supported travel training programme develops confidence in using public transport
-
Learners are taught household and daily living skills
-
Bespoke timetables allow some students to study independently, exploring subjects aligned with future interests
Social Enterprise
-
Our on-site social enterprise outlet provides hands-on experience in teamwork, communication, customer service and money handling
-
It also serves as a safe, structured way for students to build friendships and reduce the risk of social isolation

A Curriculum that Grows with the Learner
By combining academic content with real-life experience, therapeutic support and community engagement, we help our young people gain the skills, knowledge and self-belief they need to move confidently into adulthood.
