Consultation on proposed changes from September 2026

At Cedars Academy, we are committed to providing high-quality Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education that prepares our pupils for life now and in the future.

​

As part of our curriculum review, we are proposing updates to our PSHE and Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE) provision from September 2026. The proposed changes are intended to ensure that our curriculum remains relevant, inclusive, age-appropriate and responsive to the individual needs of our pupils.

 

The updated curriculum will include learning in the following areas:

• mental health and emotional wellbeing;

• healthy relationships and consent;

• online safety, social media and artificial intelligence;

• personal safety and safeguarding;

• physical health and healthy lifestyles;

• diversity, equality and respect;

• financial education and independence;

• preparation for adulthood, employment and independent living;

• sexual and reproductive health, taught in an age and stage-appropriate way.

 

We value the views of our parents, carers and families and are inviting feedback on the proposed changes before the updated curriculum is implemented.
